Nick Carlile is the Founder of Platinum Portfolio Builder, and a property investor since 1993.

A qualified Quantity Surveyor, Nick has worked in the property  and construction industry since the age of 16. He has purchased and renovated a variety of properties in and around South Yorkshire, and presently has a multi-million pound property portfolio in the UK, as well as a number of investments in Eastern Europe.

At the age of 19, Nick purchased his first house and has continued to buy, renovate, build and very occasionally sell property ever since.

Says Nick, “For me property is the best investment I can make. It’s something I understand, it’s tangible and unlike shares, which can be wiped out overnight, property always retains some intrinsic value. There are thousands of micro-markets in the UK and successful property investing is about understanding these micro markets over the short and long term.”

From building his own home in Barnsley to managing large- scale development projects worth tens of millions, Nick has a wealth of experience in the field. Nick is committed to giving back to charitable causes: as well as entering the Great North Run every year, he’s also jumped out of a plane, taken part in the London Marathon, the 3 Peaks Challenge and climbed Mont Blanc.  Nick is a Patron of Peace One Day and supports an orphanage in Uganda and many other community projects in the UK.
