“Platinum Portfolio Builder runs alongside my active business career”

Clive Bailey is no stranger to investing in property. Having left a career spanning forty years in office interiors, investing passively with Platinum Portfolio Builder has provided another string to his financial bow. Far from taking things easy, Clive is using his new found time to work on a new business start up venture, he’s clearly is a man who likes to keep busy.

Having worked his way up the company ladder, quickly progressing from Area Manager to General Manager to Director, Clive then went into business for himself and has ran his own successful company for eighteen years. Specialising in the design and fit of office interiors within the M25 area, Clive is an expert in major refurbishment projects.

With a strong foundation in interiors and construction, Clive had built his first house by the age of 32. A firm believer in holding a range of investments, he has invested in property throughout his working life and currently owns five properties in his UK portfolio alongside his involvement with Platinum Portfolio Builder.

Living in Surrey with property interests in Wales and Woking, Clive and his wife Denise are used to having their investment properties far from home. Speaking of his investment in Platinum Portfolio Builder Clive speaks highly of the friendly team in Yorkshire, “the team are always very helpful” he explains “the contractual commitment, combined with the current price of property in Yorkshire, in comparison to the rental income, means that on paper it makes sound financial sense. Of course this won’t really be tested until we come to sell the properties, but at the moment we are very happy with the investment.”

Having found out about Platinum Portfolio Builder at a New Business Exhibition in London, Clive attended a Discovery Day where he was introduced to Senior Equity Partners Nick Carlile. Although kept very busy with his new business interests Clive does find time to attend the occasional Platinum event, enjoying the chance to meet with those involved and attending.

Asked about the particular draw of investing in Platinum Portfolio Builder Clive explained that he was looking for a long term investment. “Having worked for myself for so long, I have pensions, but have always believed in taking a diverse approaching to investing” Clive explains. “By investing in property and other things outside of traditional pension schemes, I believe I have made more than if I simply kept putting that money into the same pension pot.”

Clive’s ‘many eggs, in many baskets’ approach to investment sits perfectly with Platinum Portfolio Builder. Clive currently has three properties in his portfolio with the fourth on the way: “it’s a good and useful investment model which so far seems to be working very well for us.”
